Mission Development Officer
Job Description
As Mission Development Officer, you should have an understanding and empathy for the mission of Shalom Media. You will be responsible for introducing and increasing the visibility of Shalom Ministries among the English-speaking population. The Mission Development Officer should be a committed and dynamic missionary at heart with a wholesome understanding of Shalom Media’s vision and mission.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with bishops, parish priests, Catholic ministries, and other potential collaborators to introduce Shalom ministries to the English-speaking population
- Build a support base for the ministry among the English-speaking population
- Devise and implement strategies to maintain and increase the visibility of the ministry
- Identify and recommend suitable program resources for Shalom World programs
- Present Shalom World television programs and initiatives through presentations at various events/venues
- Introduce Shalom Tidings magazine and build a sizable subscription base
- Recommend writers and translators for Shalom Tidings magazine
- Organize events/conferences for the subscribers of Shalom Tidings, present the ministry to the participants and encourage them to support the ministry through monthly financial contributions, prayers, and other volunteer efforts
- Represent Shalom ministries in designated meetings with bishops, parish priests, and other ministry leaders
- Organize youth programs and encourage the youth to join the ministry by giving a world vision of evangelization
- Identify Parish Representatives in each parish to act as the liaison for the ministry
- Coordinate the Parish Representative activities and mentor them to be ideal ambassadors of the ministry
Skills
- At least 2 years of development and fundraising experience
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- High attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through with medium and long-term projects
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to think strategically and programmatically
- Effective communication skills and professional attitude
- Ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Passionate about the mission and a thorough understanding of the teaching of the Catholic Church
